Bittersweet Chocolate Day- January 10

Bittersweet chocolate is chocolate that is produced without or nearly without milk.
It contains a greater percentage of cocoa solids than does milk chocolate, as well as less sugar. Cane sugar lends bittersweet chocolate its reduced sweetness while its bitterness is due to the richness of alkaloids contained in cocoa beans. The term "chocolate" is derived from the Aztec word “xocolātl” which means "bitter water".
Originating in Mesoamerica, cocoa was first brought to Europe in the sixteenth century by travelers who had discovered it when they saw how Aztecs in Central Mexico preparing a hot beverage from cocoa beans. Only around the year 1830, about two centuries after its introduction, did the Europeans find a way to solidify the liquid, sweeten it and thus produce the chocolate that we so love. Research has found that, due to antioxidant flavonoids contained in cocoa, a moderate daily diet of bittersweet chocolate is beneficial to health, prevents blood vessel and cardiac disorders as well as high blood pressure, diabetes and other ailments. Note that bittersweet chocolate that contains at least 70% cocoa solids is best for your health (the other ingredients that comprise bittersweet chocolate are not so healthful).

January 9th is the day of apricots.
The apricot has plenty of nutritional benefits that not everyone is aware of them: three apricots contain beta carotene that are third of the daily amount you need and you have a respectable amount of fiber, vitamin C and A.
Here are some interesting facts that (perhaps) you did not know about apricots:

People grow apricots for 4,000 years.
The origin of the apricots is China. They came to Europe in the 17th century, when they started trading voyages around the world, and they came to America in the 18th century by the Spanish explorers and quickly became most popular.
Apricots are very similar to peaches. Both fruits are Prunus genus trees.
In the 17th century apricots oil served as a remedy for ulcers in England.
In the apricot core there is a dangerous poison named Cyanogenic.
In Europe apricot is considered to be used for a long time as an aphrodisiac, and has appeared in this context in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare and the play of John Webster's "The Duchess of Malfi".
English folklore claimed that dream about apricots brings good luck.
The Chinese consider the apricot fruit as a symbol of cowardice.
The season of the apricot is summer: from mid-May until the end of July.

Festival Of Sleep Day- January 3

Who doesn't like to sleep? Especially now in the winter when it is so cold. Get into bed, curl up under the blanket and slip into the land of dreams.
It turns out that so many people like to sleep, that someone invented a special holiday for sleep - the Festival of Sleep Day.

No one really knows when this holiday was created, but it was invented by someone who has a deep love for sleep. Sleep is a basic human function that helps our body regain its energy for the next day, keep the mind sharp and ready for action.

A lack of sleep can be fatal to the human body and soul. Lack of sleep in the modern world may cause people to make accidents with vehicles, or other accidents.

Lack of sleep can make us do stupid things. Sleep plays a vital role in our processes of thinking and learning. Lack of sleep disrupts these processes and therefore causes us to lose vigilance, concentration, attention, thinking and problem solving.

Sleep also helps memory. During sleep, the brain processes the experiences of the day and thus keeps them in memory. It is known that during the course of studies it is important to sleep enough hours a day to process and remember the material in order to succeed in the tests. Lack of extreme sleep may also cause serious health problems like heart disease, heart attacks, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes.

So here you have enough good reasons to go to bed.

How to celebrate the Sleep Festival?
After finish the chores, the work, the studies and all that is necessary, wear pajamas and go to bed to sleep. It's true that every night we go to sleep, at least most of us, but for the sleep festival, we'll skip TV series or dates or anything else and go to bed early.

Science Fiction Day - January 2

Science Fiction Day is celebrated unofficially by many science fiction fans in the United States on January 2. The date was chosen (not known by whom and when) because it is the birthday of famous science fiction writer Isaac Asimov.

Isaac Asimov was born on January 2, 1920, to a Jewish family on the border between Russia and Belarus, and at the age of three emigrated with his family to the US. He is responsible for several great literary works such as "Sunset," "I, Robot," "The naked sun" And more.
SFD is not an official holiday of any kind (in the sense that it is not recognized or declared by a government or an organization), but it is, to a certain extent, a feature of television on the Hallmark channel.

If you want to mention the science fiction day, spend it by reading a good science fiction book or watching a science fiction film.

Recommended partial list:
Books by Philip K. Dick or Kurt Vonnegut, Stanley Kubrick's Movie Marathon, 2001: Space Odyssey, Ridley Scott, Alien, or Garth Jennings, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
In "Alien" you will see one of the most famous footage of the science fiction scam of all time, in a section on how "in space no one can hear you scream" and how a close encounter of the third kind becomes a jaws nightmare when an alien invades a spaceship. The "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is a comic science fiction film based on Douglas Adams's book about what happens just seconds before the earth is destroyed by a foreign construction team and Arthur Dent and his friend Ford Perfect are rescued as they travel to the Golden Heart as trams in the galaxy.

If you like science fiction, this is the day to celebrate your love. If not, this is the day to meet.

In the last century, anyone who had confidence in the gray cells of his brain would scribble carbon letters on the crumpled piece of paper every morning.
The first crossword was invented by Arthur Wynn, a British-born violinist and journalist who immigrated to Pennsylvania when he was 19.

Games Day began on December 20, 1975 in London. This day was announced by the Games Workshop company, as a day for gathering together to play.
Games Day was announced by the company following the cancellation of the other games day that was scheduled to be held that year in August in London. Today it's sponsored by the Conference Games Workshop and annual running games. Games Workshop decided to fill the gap and initiated its own gaming day. The first day of the Games was held at Seymour Hall, London on December 20, 1975.
Gamers have met and played with each other in Games Workshop's games, which are war games with miniature characters.
Following the successful start and extensive media coverage, they held an annual game day later, in Chelsea, near London, on February 12, 1977. The event was delayed somewhat due to the logistics of rapidly expanding business. After this day also conducted the "Dungeons & Dragons Day" in the city of Fulham, on 12 March.

Another attraction is the Golden Demon, a drawing contest of miniatures. There is also competition in varying degrees of seriousness, such as the contest of the demon-dump, where competitors create plastic models.
In the coming years, the United States also joined the celebration of the Games Day, because what is better than taking a break in the pressures of life and taking part in games such as box games, computer games, video, chess, checkers, etc. Of course, this day also smiles very much for the gaming industry.

National Hard Candy Day- December 19

Who doesn't like hard candy? Both adults and children like to suck hard candy occasionally. There are so many types and flavors of hard candy, and they are always a good solution when boring in the mouth.
December 19 is the day of the celebration of the hard candy.
Most hard candy is made from 100% sugar with other flavors and colors. To make hard candy, boil the sugar syrup to a temperature of 160 degrees Celsius. Once it reaches the temperature and the sugar becomes liquid, pour it into a pan or roll and fold in shapes and let the candies cool off. Once it cools, the solid sugar becomes hard and crisp.
The first hard candies were candies with lemon drops and mints that served as a remedy for digestive diseases.
The hard candy became popular in the seventeenth century when the price of sugar fell. Before that, in the Middle Ages, hard candy was something only the rich could afford.
By the mid 1800s, more than 400 companies had created this popular indulgence. The hard candy already had a role in the tale of Hansel and Gretel of the Grimm brothers from the mid-19th century, in the decoration of the house of the evil witch in the forest.
If you are on a diet and want a sweet taste - you have hard candy without sugar. If you feel you have a bad smell in your mouth, a mint can help.
Hard candy is the opposite of soft candy like toffee. You can also find them in the form of lollipops, also wrapped in one bulk, also in various forms such as a grandfather stick and also arranged in a package without wrapping (like Mentos).

International Tea Day- December 15

International Tea Day is a day marked every year since 2005 by countries that produce tea like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Malaysia, Uganda, India and Tanzania.
The purpose of the International Tea Day is to raise the global attention of governments and citizens to the impact of tea on world trade, working conditions and growth, and to seek fair price and trade support.
In 2015, the Indian government offered to extend the tea day celebration to an international day marked by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

In honor of International Tea Day, here are some interesting facts about tea:

The origin of the tea is in East Asian countries, especially China.

There is a legend that in 2737 BC, Sheng, the second emperor of China, discovered the tea when leaves fell into his boiling water pot.

There are about 1,500 kinds of tea and even more. So when you ask for tea, you need to be very specific about the type you are asking for because there are more than 1,500 options.

Although there are 1,500 varieties of tea, they are derived from only six main varieties: white, yellow, oolong, green, black and post-fermented.

The plant from which all types of tea come from is Chinese camellia.

After water, tea is the second most consumed drink in the world.

Tasting tea is not an easy job. You should have a sharp eye for the tea leaves, a pointy taste for the brewed tea, a delicate touch for the tea leaves, and a well-developed sense of smell to determine if the aroma of tea is good or not.

The same kind of tea will not always taste the same. The taste of the tea depends largely on the temperature at which it is picked, the taste of the water and when it was poured. The Chinese recommend drinking tea with fresh water from lakes and rivers.

Tea is not only healthy. It also helps in healing cuts, removing odors (even body odors for that matter), using fertilizer, cleaning floor and perfect meat marinade.

Tea became Britain's national drink in the mid-18th century.

The British drink about 165 million cups of tea a day. That amounts to 62 billion cups a year.
In the United States, about 644,000 kilograms of tea are consumed every day.

The national drink of Iran and Afghanistan is tea.

Tea is used as a mosquito repellent. If you don't want mosquitoes in the house, pour tea leaves and their smell at home will keep them away.

Lipton tea is the most popular brand of tea, and is the best-selling in the world. His factory is located in Jebel Ali, Dubai, and produces at least 5 billion tea bags a year.

3 million tons of tea is produced annually around the world.

The most expensive tea meal in history was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong, costing $ 8,888 per couple.

The tea bags and Ice tea were invented in the United States in 1904.

From a pound of tea leaves you can make more than 200 cups of tea.

The most popular tea in the world is black tea. 75% of tea use is done in this type.

Tea and herbal teas are two different things. The tea is extracted from the Chinese Camellia plant while the herbal tea is extracted from various herbs or fruits.

Before the 19th century, solid pieces of tea were used as currency in Siberia.

In Western countries, they began drinking tea 400 years ago, while in Eastern countries they began drinking it 4,000 years ago.

Pearl Harbor Day- 7 December

Pearl Harbor National Memorial Day, also known as Pearl Harbor Day, falls every year in the United States on December 7 to remember and honor the 2,403 US citizens killed in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941.
On August 23, 1994, the US Congress determined that December 7 of each year would be the National Memorial Day of Pearl Harbor. On Pearl Harbor, the American flag is lowered to half-mast until sunset to honor those who died as a result of the attack on US Navy forces in Hawaii.
Pearl Harbor Day is not a federal holiday - government offices, schools and businesses are not closes. Some organizations may hold special events in memory of those killed or injured in Pearl Harbor.
The attack on Pearl Harbor took place on the morning of Sunday, December 7, 1941, during World War II. Imperial Japanese aircraft attacked the American base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, which was the main base of the US Navy in the Pacific Ocean. At 7:55 am Mitsu Poshida, the leading Japanese pilot, gave the signal for the attack when he called "Tora, Torre, Torre".
The attack on Pearl Harbor was seared into the American consciousness as an event of national disgrace, remembered to be a disgrace, and is considered the greatest intelligence failure in the history of the United States, until the terror attack on the Twin Towers in New York. The attack on Pearl Harbor caused the United States to enter World War II and, in retrospect, defeat Japan.

Miners' Day- December 6

Miners' Day is the day of the people involved in mining, the hard and dangerous work of producing raw materials for industry that is needed for modern production.
Miners are actually the ones who help to exploit the natural resources, they are the workers who produce materials that we use, sometimes essential and sometimes for luxuries.
Gold, coal, diamonds, iron, gems, lead, limestone, nickel, phosphol, salt, tin, uranium, bauxite, molybdenum. In terms of expansion, mining also includes production of water, natural gas and oil.

We are not always aware of where the things we use come from. We just think we buy them somewhere and don't give a thought to who finds them. Who digs in deep tunnels at great risk to find diamonds or coal or cut into the mountains in the blazing sun?
Mining is a dangerous but very important profession. Miners' Day recognizes the hard and dangerous work they do and rewards them for their dedication.

French Toast Day- November 28

The French toast is fried bread in an egg batter, which can be prepared from salty or sweet and eaten with various additives such as whipped cream, cheese, fruit, ice cream, chocolate, butter, honey and more.
What's fun with this toast is that it does not have a special recipe and you can try it on a different way every time until you find out what recipe is best for you. To mix the fried bread you can add milk, orange juice, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and more. The additions can also be varied. The French toast is a popular breakfast or dinner and can be prepared simply from what you have at home at the moment (provided you have the basic ingredients: bread and egg).
It is not known who invented the dish, but there is documentation that it existed in Europe already in the Middle Ages.
There is a claim that it was originally called "German toast" but during World War I, because the atmosphere in the United States was anti-German, changed its name to "Tost French."
There is also a story that the French toast was invented by an American man at a roadside inn near Albany in New York in 1724 whose name was Joseph French.
No matter where the french toast comes from, the important thing is that it is tasty, easy to prepare and can be eaten both sweet and salty and add to it anything you want.

We'll learn a little about why diets do not work.
We will eat tasty and nutritious food that we love and will not regret it.
While eating, we will chew well and concentrate on the taste of the food.
While eating, we will do nothing else.
Avoid talking about diets, weight and fat.

Waffle Day- March 25

International Waffle Day was designed to celebrate the invention of the waffle. The source of the holiday is in Sweden where they celebrate Våffeldagen, "Our Lady's Feast" which took place nine months before Christmas, the Christian feast of the gospel of the birth of Jesus. Because the name of the holiday sounds like the word "Waffle day", they also celebrate the day they were baptized by eating wafers.
It is speculated that the origin of the waffle was in ancient Greece, where they baked two flat cakes on two metal plates. Another hypothesis is that the origin of the waffle was in the Middle Ages, when a knight wearing a dandruff shell accidentally sat on a cake and dipped it in a cross-sectional mark.
There are all kinds of waffles. There are Belgian waffles that are eaten with ice cream, fruit and whipped cream. There are American waffles eaten for breakfast with butter or syrup. The Japanese waffle is made in the shape of a fish and filled with a sauce. And there are the waffles you buy ready that have a million styles and flavors.

Loacker is an Italian company that manufactures wafers, chocolate and other products whose home enterprise is located in South Tyrol, Italy. It was founded in 1926 as a family company of Alphonse Loecker.

The Belgian waffle arrived in America when served as dessert with ice cream and strawberry balls at a food exhibition held in Seattle in 1962.
The easiest version of the Belgian waffle, as we know it in Israel, was created after the Belgian waffle was presented at the 1964 World Fair in New York in Flushing Meadows Park. Chocolate Souffle Day- February 28

Chocolate soufflé is one of the most delicious desserts there is. The soufflé is a light, airy pastry made mostly of protein foam. The original recipe for chocolate souffle appeared in the French book Le Cuisinier Moderne, by Chef Vincent Le Chapel, circa 1742.

The source of the name Souffle is the French word souffler which means "swell" or "explode".
In restaurants and cafes, a dessert is often served, called chocolate soufflé, which is a chocolate cake with liquid chocolate in it. This cake is not chocolate soufflé. It mainly contains flour and is therefore more stable. The dessert served in restaurants is usually chocolate fondant, which is also delicious in itself.
The soufflé is made from a batter or cream that gives it its flavor and a foam of proteins that give it the airiness and volume.
The soufflé is considered one of the most difficult pastries, and the great fear of it is that "the soufflé will fall" after investing so much in preparing it. During the baking process, it boils in the oven and remains in the apple state for about twenty to thirty minutes. A change in air pressure or a rapid change in temperature causes its fall. When removed from the oven, it loses its height within 5-10 minutes, so it is customary to prepare it "ah-la-minut" (shortly before serving it) and serve it immediately after baking.
The soufflé is baked in round personal patterns and is usually served in a pan, because it is so fragile and airy.

In honor of the chocolate souffle day, make a souffle from one of the many recipes on the chain, and if that does not work out, do not give up, who said that only today can you make chocolate soufflé? Chocolate soufflé can and should be prepared all year round.

Frozen yogurt contains fewer calories than ice cream (depending on what you add to it). You can add frozen fruit, sweets, cookies, creams and more to the frozen yogurt, according to personal taste.
Ingredients of yogurt are yogurt, sweetener, gelatin, sugar syrup and flavorings, frozen in an ice cream machine. The yogurt is frozen at a lower temperature than the ice cream, so it thaws more slowly and less dripping from ice cream.

The history of the Frozen yogurt
People began to eat yogurt as early as 4,000 years ago, especially in the Middle East and India.

In 1930 the Danone food company began selling yogurt packed until the 1970s. During these years, the popularity of ice cream increased, and Danone tried the ice cream production technology for yogurt. Some of the consumers liked it but some actually complained about the taste.
In 1981, TCBY opened the first store of frozen yogurts. They sold the sweet ice-cream yogurt in their stores, but unlike Danone, they did not market it in packaged boxes, but they filled customers with trophies with machines.
The name TCBY was initially: This Can't Be Yogurt, but after being sued by I Can't Believe It's Yogurt, they changed their name to The Country's Best Yogurt , Which is still the same acronym.
The sales of the Frogurt rose dramatically, reaching sales of $ 25 million in 1986. The frozen yogurt accounted for 10 percent of the frozen desserts market in the US, and in the mid-1990s sales reached over $ 300 million, but in the late 1990s Of the Americans and the fashion of frozen yogurt has passed from the world.
In 2000 the frozen yogurt rose to life with the introduction of mixtures containing live probiotic powder. The powder was invented by John Wudel, the pioneer of the distribution of alternative sweeteners in the frozen dessert industry.
In 2005, a small retail store in California named Pinkberry introduced new market additions of soft frozen yogurt. In 2006, Yoghurtland invented the first self-assembled frozen yoghurt in their first store in Fullerton, California.
The yogurt has a fresh tenderness. Hundreds of yogurt and yogurt shops where buyers can choose the type of yogurt they want and the extras are opened.
How to Celebrate the Day of the Frozen Yogurt?
