International Tea Day- December 15

International Tea Day is a day marked every year since 2005 by countries that produce tea like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Vietnam, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Malaysia, Uganda, India and Tanzania.
The purpose of the International Tea Day is to raise the global attention of governments and citizens to the impact of tea on world trade, working conditions and growth, and to seek fair price and trade support.
In 2015, the Indian government offered to extend the tea day celebration to an international day marked by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

In honor of International Tea Day, here are some interesting facts about tea:

The origin of the tea is in East Asian countries, especially China.

There is a legend that in 2737 BC, Sheng, the second emperor of China, discovered the tea when leaves fell into his boiling water pot.

There are about 1,500 kinds of tea and even more. So when you ask for tea, you need to be very specific about the type you are asking for because there are more than 1,500 options.

Although there are 1,500 varieties of tea, they are derived from only six main varieties: white, yellow, oolong, green, black and post-fermented.

The plant from which all types of tea come from is Chinese camellia.

After water, tea is the second most consumed drink in the world.

Tasting tea is not an easy job. You should have a sharp eye for the tea leaves, a pointy taste for the brewed tea, a delicate touch for the tea leaves, and a well-developed sense of smell to determine if the aroma of tea is good or not.

The same kind of tea will not always taste the same. The taste of the tea depends largely on the temperature at which it is picked, the taste of the water and when it was poured. The Chinese recommend drinking tea with fresh water from lakes and rivers.

Tea is not only healthy. It also helps in healing cuts, removing odors (even body odors for that matter), using fertilizer, cleaning floor and perfect meat marinade.

Tea became Britain's national drink in the mid-18th century.

The British drink about 165 million cups of tea a day. That amounts to 62 billion cups a year.
In the United States, about 644,000 kilograms of tea are consumed every day.

The national drink of Iran and Afghanistan is tea.

Tea is used as a mosquito repellent. If you don't want mosquitoes in the house, pour tea leaves and their smell at home will keep them away.

Lipton tea is the most popular brand of tea, and is the best-selling in the world. His factory is located in Jebel Ali, Dubai, and produces at least 5 billion tea bags a year.

3 million tons of tea is produced annually around the world.

The most expensive tea meal in history was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong, costing $ 8,888 per couple.

The tea bags and Ice tea were invented in the United States in 1904.

From a pound of tea leaves you can make more than 200 cups of tea.

The most popular tea in the world is black tea. 75% of tea use is done in this type.

Tea and herbal teas are two different things. The tea is extracted from the Chinese Camellia plant while the herbal tea is extracted from various herbs or fruits.

Before the 19th century, solid pieces of tea were used as currency in Siberia.

In Western countries, they began drinking tea 400 years ago, while in Eastern countries they began drinking it 4,000 years ago.

Iced Tea Day- 10 June

Ice tea is not only refreshing on a hot summer day, it also has some great health benefits and can be enjoyed in many different flavors.
June 10 is the ice tea day and this is an excellent excuse to enjoy this refreshing drink! Do not be afraid to add a little lemon or sugar to taste, or even ginger to help if you suffer from a sore throat.

The Ice Tee can be bought in a bottle or can, mixed with various syrups such as lemon, raspberry, lime, passion fruit, peach, oranges, strawberries, cherries and more.
The oldest printed recipes of Ice Tee are dated to 1870. Two of the earliest cookbooks with cold tea recipes are the Buckeye Cookbook by Estel Woods Wilcox, first published in 1876, and the book Housekeeping in old Virginia by Marion Cabell Tyree, first published in 1877.

Iced tea began to appear in the United States during the 1860s. In the early 1970s, it began showing up on hotels and stalls at train stations, mainly in the southern US, and his popularity gained momentum after being exhibited at a 1904 world's fair in St. Louis by Richard Blechynden.
The popularity of the ice tea in the United States led to the creation of sets of cutlery adapted to this beverage: Ice tea spoon is a spoon with a long handle, suitable for mixing sugar in the long glasses.

How to celebrate the cold tea day?
Usually the 10th of June falls on a hot day, so the best way to celebrate the day is to drink cold tea refreshing in different flavors.
