National Veggie Burger day- 5 June

Love a hamburger? Who doesn't?
Burger is one of the most delicious and popular dishes for people around the world. But there is also a hamburger that is not made of meat, but of vegetables, and June 5 is the day of this hamburger - the veggie burger day.
The veggie burgers are very tasty, and sometimes those who eat them do not feel the difference between them and meat burgers.

There are many versions of vegetarian burgers, but what is common to all is that their ingredients are all based on plants. They are based on pulses, lentils, black beans, soybeans, nuts, seeds, quinoa, rice, vegetables such as sweet potatoes, cauliflower, corn, carrots and mushrooms.

With all due respect, the vegetable burgers are healthier than meat burgers.
They contain less saturated fat and therefore are not dangerous to the heart and blood vessels and have a high quality protein and fiber needed for the body.
Another reason to prefer a hamburger-
Perhaps you have heard of the "small" problem of the world called climate change.
One of the things we can do to help stop this process is to eat less meat, because the cows emit methane gas that is causing global warming.
If you like animals and don't want to hurt them, this is another great reason to prefer a vegetable hamburger, which does not include ingredients produced from the bodies of animals.

How to celebrate the National Veggie Burger day?
Today is the day to try the vegie burger if you have not tried yet. It's no problem finding it in restaurants. Look for a restaurant whose menu features a vegie burger.
You can also make homemade hamburger patties and eat in a bun with fries on the side (yummy!).
Today supermarkets also have plenty of plant hamburgers that contain nothing from animals.

World Food Day- 16 October

World Food Day was first launched in 1945. The reason is that this is the day on which the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) was founded.
The main theme of World Food Day is to promote food security throughout the world, especially in times of crisis. The launch of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is designed to ensure that governments place the food security of their country's citizens at the top of their priorities, and that the annual celebration of the Food Day serves to raise awareness of the importance of this organization,
World Food Day focuses each time on another aspect related to food and agriculture. This year's Food Day focuses on changing the future of immigration - on the importance of investment in food security and the development of rural areas.

National Moldy Cheese Day- 9 October

October 9 is the day of the blue cheese- molded cheese.
When we hear about eating mold, we are usually scared and afraid that it is dangerous, but if you do not know, mold cheeses have many health benefits.
Cheese with mold are cheeses with blue and green spots. Among the types of cheeses are: Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Steelton, Durbello, Cambazzola, Danbello, Camelost and more.
The origin of the mold is not spoilage of the cheese, but cultures of funcillium species, the type of fungi discovered by Alexander Fleming in the 1940s that can inhibit bacterial growth.
Just as penicillin-containing drugs are used to treat infections, molded cheeses have the ability to fight infections.
The taste of the blue cheeses is sharp and salty and has a strong and unpleasant smell (because of the bacterial cultures). They add good taste to salads, bread, pasta and many other dishes.
As we have said before, the health benefits of blue cheeses are many, among which you can find the anti-inflammatory properties they have, which can help them in inflammatory situations such as arthritis and other infections.
Other benefits include heart protection, diet help, their contribution to satiety, fighting bacteria, relieving irritable bowel syndrome, preventing bone loss by containing vitamin K2, which maintains bone density, and enhancing the effectiveness of vaccines because they contain catabacillus bacteria.
In conclusion, in honor of Blue Cheese Day, go to the supermarket near you, buy moldy cheese and add it to your daily menu to gain good health and longevity!

Sandwich day- November 3

Sandwich Day is celebrated every year on November 3rd.
The sandwich is so popular and every day millions of people eat it in different versions. The sandwich is a dish made up of two slices of bread with a spread of something, a piece of meat, a slice of cheese, and a variety of other vegetables (but not necessarily).
The sandwich is an excellent solution for those who need to take packaged food when they leave the house, and a lot of kids take a sandwich to school for a break of ten.
The name Sandwich was given to him on the 18th-century English lord John Montaguio. John Montaguio was the fourth Duke of Sandwich, an English town in Kent County. Montaguio was so fond of betting that when he was hungry he did not want to stop eating, so he asked his servants to serve him two slices of bread with a piece of meat between them.
The popular additions to the sandwich are yellow cheese, tuna, chocolate spread, sausage, omelette and more. You can also make very creative sandwiches like here:

Vegans also have a lot of things to put in a sandwich - from chickpeas, tehina, and chocolate spread (non dairy) to soy-based cheeses and Wheat gluten sausages.

It is recommended to eat the sandwich from a whole wheat bread that contains protein, vitamins, fiber and more, and healthier than the white bread, which contains mainly sugar. Another recommendation is to put in the sandwich fresh vegetables.
Anyone can enjoy a sandwich without exception!

How to celebrate Sandwich Day?
what a question? make a good sandwich, with as many spreads and slices and vagetables as possible, open a big big mouth and eat. Bon appetite!

Fortune Cookie Day- 13 September

What more fun than eat a cookie that tells you the future or tells you something of wisdom? Because if you already eat a cookie and add calories, why not enjoy what the cookie tells?
Contrary to what is commonly thought, fortune cookies are not from China but from San Francisco. They were invented by the Japanese chef Makoto Hagiwara who worked at the Japanese Tea Garden. He handed them to the people walking around in the garden, but to his sorrow he never patented it.
A fortune cookie is a crispy cookie that is usually made of flour, sugar, vanilla, and sesame seed oil with a "lucky note" hiding inside. A lucky note is a piece of paper with a wise sentence, a proverb, or a vague prophecy.

Many Chinese restaurants around the world tend to serve fortune cookies, which is why many people mistakenly think that fortune cookies are Chinese.
So in honor of the lucky cookie day, eat a cookie and discover what the future holds for you.

Bittersweet Chocolate Day- January 10

Bittersweet chocolate is chocolate that is produced without or nearly without milk.
It contains a greater percentage of cocoa solids than does milk chocolate, as well as less sugar. Cane sugar lends bittersweet chocolate its reduced sweetness while its bitterness is due to the richness of alkaloids contained in cocoa beans. The term "chocolate" is derived from the Aztec word “xocolātl” which means "bitter water".
Originating in Mesoamerica, cocoa was first brought to Europe in the sixteenth century by travelers who had discovered it when they saw how Aztecs in Central Mexico preparing a hot beverage from cocoa beans. Only around the year 1830, about two centuries after its introduction, did the Europeans find a way to solidify the liquid, sweeten it and thus produce the chocolate that we so love. Research has found that, due to antioxidant flavonoids contained in cocoa, a moderate daily diet of bittersweet chocolate is beneficial to health, prevents blood vessel and cardiac disorders as well as high blood pressure, diabetes and other ailments. Note that bittersweet chocolate that contains at least 70% cocoa solids is best for your health (the other ingredients that comprise bittersweet chocolate are not so healthful).

Whipped Cream Day- January 5

The whipped cream is a national holiday in the United States, but there is no reason why it should not be celebrated all over the world, because the cream can be part of any dessert, and it improves and upgrades every cake, ice cream ball, hot chocolate cake, fruit salad or strawberries.
The whipped cream was popular in the 16th century, and it appeared in the writings of Cristoforo di Messisbugo (Ferrara, 1549), Bartolomeo Scappi (Rome, 1570), Lancelot de Casteau (Liege, 1,604). The whipped cream was then called milk snow and consisted of whipped egg whites, rose water and sugar.
The whipped cream in a tank with nitrogen oxide was invented in 1930 by Charles Getz and Frederick Smith who worked for GFS Chemicals and Marshal Reinka. Both patents were filed and discussed later. Getz's patent was considered illegal but later confirmed in the appeal.
How to celebrate the day of whipped cream?
Very simple - add cream to your coffee, eat strawberries with whipped cream, cake with whipped cream or take a whipped cream container and just squirt whipped cream into your mouth!

In the first year the theme of the cake was "Sweet Dream", the following year "Pink Panther" and in 2014 the theme was "The Star Parade".
The most famous sentence in history about cakes is probably the sentence of Marie Antoinette, Queen of France during the French Revolution - "S'ils n'ont pas de pain, qu'ils mangent de la brioche" (in English: "If they have no bread, let them To eat cakes! Or Brioche, to be exact), a little while before her head was beheaded. The cake symbolized at that time the insensitivity of the wicked kings who lived in wealth and welfare while the people were starving. But despite its bad name, the cake has since symbolized good things like celebrations. In every event that is celebrated the cake is a necessary part, so it is probably a duty to devote a special day, and of course cake should be prepared.

National Hard Candy Day- December 19

Who doesn't like hard candy? Both adults and children like to suck hard candy occasionally. There are so many types and flavors of hard candy, and they are always a good solution when boring in the mouth.
December 19 is the day of the celebration of the hard candy.
Most hard candy is made from 100% sugar with other flavors and colors. To make hard candy, boil the sugar syrup to a temperature of 160 degrees Celsius. Once it reaches the temperature and the sugar becomes liquid, pour it into a pan or roll and fold in shapes and let the candies cool off. Once it cools, the solid sugar becomes hard and crisp.
The first hard candies were candies with lemon drops and mints that served as a remedy for digestive diseases.
The hard candy became popular in the seventeenth century when the price of sugar fell. Before that, in the Middle Ages, hard candy was something only the rich could afford.
By the mid 1800s, more than 400 companies had created this popular indulgence. The hard candy already had a role in the tale of Hansel and Gretel of the Grimm brothers from the mid-19th century, in the decoration of the house of the evil witch in the forest.
If you are on a diet and want a sweet taste - you have hard candy without sugar. If you feel you have a bad smell in your mouth, a mint can help.
Hard candy is the opposite of soft candy like toffee. You can also find them in the form of lollipops, also wrapped in one bulk, also in various forms such as a grandfather stick and also arranged in a package without wrapping (like Mentos).

French Fries Day- July 13

French fries are one of the most popular foods in the world. There is almost no restaurant serving Western food that does not offer French fries as a supplement.

The history of French fries
In a handwriting of a family from a small village in Belgium in 1781, one can find a story about making fries. They used to cut the potatoes in the form of fish, fry them and serve them as a replacement for the fish, when the rivers froze and it was impossible to fish.
So why call french fries if they are originally from Belgium? The reason is that in World War I, soldiers arrived in Belgium and met the Belgian fries. Because the official language of the Belgian army was French, they attributed the French fries to France and called them "fried French". In this part of the world the fries are now called "Flemish fried" and are so beloved that they have even become the national snack of the Netherlands.

How to celebrate French Fries Day?
You can have a party where the main course is french fries, and in different styles. You can eat potato chips, classic fries, French fries like McDonald's, Zig Zag french fries, and more. You can add ketchup, mayonnaise, chopped onion, a thousand island sauce, cheese, cream or whatever you like.
You can eat fried or baked fries, in the oven or in the microwave, as you like.
So eat lots of French fries and have a happy French Fries day!

In the picture: A hamburger without fries is like a celebration without a cake, a film without popcorn, a snail without a shell, a cake without sugar, falafel without tahini, strawberries without whipped cream, etc.
