Housewife's Day- 3 November

If you are a stay home mother or a full time housewife you probably feel that you are not as appreciated as you deserve for your efforts and your hard work at home. You probably will be happy to hear that there is a day devoted to the housewife that will make you feel different. November 3 is a day of appreciation for housewives around the world, the day the housekeeper is honored for caring for the house, which is not self-evident.
The source of this day is not clear, but the suspicion is that it was created by a real housewife, someone who felt exhausted and unappreciated, someone who felt that the environment scorned the work of the housewife. Soon her idea stirred up enthusiasm and in various countries (especially in the US) began to mark him as housewife gifts like a spa day, a pampering dinner or anything that would do her good and make her feel how important she is.

Some funny quotes about cleaning the house:

There is no need to clean the house at all. After the first four years Dust will not be in worse shape (Quentin Crisp, English writer, 1908-1999)

I think that housework is the reason why a woman should go to work in an office (Heloise Cruse).

My husband and I decided on a fair division of labor in cleaning the house: None of us do it (Dottie Archibald)

Some of the tasks are more like the torture of Sisyphus than housework, with their endless repetition: the clean becomes dirty, the dirty becomes clean, and so on, day after day (Simone de Beauvoir, French and feminist writer, 1908-1986)

Housework is something you do that nobody notices until you don’t do it (Author Unknown).

Thank God for every dirty dish we have in the sink, because it means we're lucky to have something to eat

I believe that every day we have to live as if this is the last day of our lives. That's why you will not find clean laundry. Because who spends the last day of his life in the laundry? (Author Unknown)

The one waiting for the knight on her white horse- it's important to remember that she's the one to clean after the horse

Law of cleaning windows: the dirt is always on the other side.

Our house is clean enough to be healthy, and dirty enough to be happy. (Author Unknown)

My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint. (Erma Bombeck)
My husband asked me to whisper dirty things in his ear. So I whispered: kitchen, bathroom, living room

National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day- June 13

June 13 is the day  that dedicated annualy to those of us who find it difficult to function in the kitchen (as cooks, not as eaters). For people who have left hands and utter incompetence when it comes to cooking, baking and food preparation.

When I look at my friends Facebook and Instagram pages, I see endless images of culinary creations. Impressive cakes, cupcakes, patties, pasta, bread and all the dishes in the world, of course, with very complicated receipes. It seems that everyone around knows how to cook and bake like a world-class chef. They are so successful and talented.

The date June 13 is dedicated to those transparent people, those who have nothing to be proud about. This is the day to remember that there are people among us who always spill too much salt or forget to spice, their cake will always rise and then get thin as plywood, they always put too much or too little water, always will burn them in the stew. So now embrace them and cherish them and tell them that it's OK not to know how to cook, and if they don't like to do it, they don't have to prove anything to anyone.

Personal chef day- 26 February

US Personal Chefs Association suggested the February 26 date as Personal Chef Day.
A personal chef is a person who prepares gourmet meals to people in their homes. He not only prepares a meal but giving personal attention and love pampering.
If you're lucky and can afford to book a personal chef, and you have no power to cook, to work and to make a mess in the kitchen, you can invite a personal chef to your home, give them affection, express appreciation to their dedicated work and give them even a small gift.

Celebrities cook and publish cookbooks

Do you sometimes  imagine what famous actress cook in their  kitchen or were you thinking, whether in addition to their acting skill and stunning look they also have a culinary skills?

It turns out that some Hollywood stars tend to cook and prepare good meals for themselves and their homes, and even wrote a book about it. Like:

Eva Longoria - Would you believe that Gabriel Solis, from Desperate Housewives, who can't make a cake without burning it from the outside and leave it a mess inside, really like to cook for her family and friends and that she started cooking at age six? Longoria says that even when she hurries to glamorous events, she will not give up concern for a good meal for her family, and she found herself running around the kitchen with the Gucci dress,  on high heels, neat hair and makeup. In her book Eva's Kitchen: Cooking With Love for Family and Friends   she publishes recipes from her Mexican poor family where she was raised as a child and some of her own. The recipes are delicious and easy to prepare. Click here to look inside:

Gwyneth Paltrow -

Gwyneth Paltrow usually plays delicate and fragile characters, you might say even quite sloppy and it's not easy to imagine her standing in the kitchen and preparing complex dishes. But she recently released a cookbook called My Father's Daughter dedicated to her father, director and film producer Bruce Paltrow, who died nine years ago from cancer at the age of 56.  Paltrow tells In her book that her father that was Jewish was the one who raised the kids in the family while her mother, the actress Blythe Danner , is the one who took care of livelihood.  her father developed a special expertise in the pancakes which she publishes the book. Sheryl Crow -

The beautiful singer from the song is "If it makes you happy", took out a cookbook called If it Makes you Healthy, following the breast cancer she suffered five years ago, at age 44. As you guessed from the book name, the recipes that appear in it are healthy. The singer had not been cooked, because her mother was such a good cook she was not required to stand in the kitchen and cook for herself. Even as an adult she didn't cook because she lived alone and used to eat mostly food of hotels during touring.  When she got cancer she began to meet with dietician Rachel Beller. Very quickly she became a devout student of healthy diet and wrote a book that contains recipes for healthy and interesting food. One of the interesting recipes that appear in the book is a recipe that combines chocolate and avocado mousse.Click here to look inside:

Alicia Silverstone -

The actress and activist recently released a book called The Kind Diet  in which she tells the insight that led her to avoid eating meat and stick to a diet forever, and highlights the benefits a vegetarian diet.  Since Silverstone believes that changing the habits of life for a long term is an ongoing process, She divided her book into three training stages, from flirt to superhero. As you can see, malawach is good for meal or desert, and you can play with it and make a lot of great things. So next time you're going to buy food, look for malawah, you shoukd try it!

Things you can do with Malawah

Malawach (or: Malawah) is a tasty and easy food, which comes from the Yemenite Jews.
Malawah is a fried flat and thin bread, made from puff pastry brushed with oil, and the common way to eat it is with tomato puree, egg and zhug (a Middle Eastern hot sauce originating in Yemeni cuisine).
If you have a frozen malawach in your grocery shop, I recommend you to buy it because it's very easy to make it (to make it by yourself is more comlicate). You gonna love it and it's a great dinner for kids. Right, it's fattening, one piece contains 464 calories, but if you eat it with tomatoes and egg, it gives dinner some nutritionals.

There are some interesting ways to eat a malawach and make it great meal, you won't believe how easy it is:

Malawah with egg and cheese

Ingredients:
Malawach
1 Egg
Yellow cheese, the kind you love (or you have at the moment)

Directions:
Light the fire under the pan until it warms up.
When the pan is very hot, place the malawach on it. Reduce heat and cover.
Meanwhile, break an egg into a cup and set it aside (do not stir!).
After about 3 minutes, check to see if the bottom of the malawach is yellow-brown and if so, then turn it.

Wait 10 seconds, then with a fork and knife separate the two layers of the malawah.

Pour the egg on the bottom layer of the malawah and cover with the second layer.

Put the pieces of your favorite cheese on the top layer. Cover and wait about 3 minutes, until the malawah is ready.

You can also make a desert with malawah, here it is >>>

My friend's pancakes Vs. my pancakes and more food fails

Among of my lack of talents, there's my lack of talent of everything related to the kitchen: cooking, baking and even cleaning and organizing.
So I decided to make fun of it and laugh at myself. Whenever my friends publish pictures of the great food they made, I will make it too and make a comparison. I will call my creations: culinary disasters.

So here is my first culinary disaster. The truth is that it only looks bad but it was tasty, I swear.
So who win in the culinary disasters competition?

And this is what happened when I tried to make Spiral cookies:
